FIRST; A NOTE ABOUT WELL-KNOWN LEADERS, FROM THE BIBLICAL VIEW.
All leaders, good & bad only have their position of leadership & some ‘power’ because the God of Heaven, has allowed them this honour. We learn this from the Bible in the stories of many kings or leaders of what we now call the Middle East. From Egyptian Pharaohs, to kings of Assyria, Babylon, Persia and of course many leaders & kings of Israel.

One day they will ALL have to give account to the Sovereign LORD God.

Leaders, only have their position because God has permitted it.
Psalm 75; verses 1 - 7 remind us, "We give thanks to You O GOD,
We give thanks for Your Name is near. [Available to all who want to know Him.]
“Men tell of Your wonderful deeds.
You say, ‘I choose the appointed time. It is I Who judge uprightly’.
When the Earth & all its people quake, it is I Who hold its pillars firm.
To the arrogant I say, ‘’Boast no more!’
And to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.’ [‘Antlers’ of sheer arrogance.]
 “No one from the East, or from the West, or from the desert can exalt a man.
But it is God who judges; HE brings one down, HE exalts another."

These days, with fast and frequent news items at our finger-tips we know more about the leaders of the world, (that in many cases), have enormous influence over millions of people!
We would suggest that rather than pray for some Leaders, who we know are bent on evil plans, perhaps we should pray for the people who are affected by their decisions.
This especially means Christians under persecution, & vulnerable women & children.
But also, it is clear that plans & decisions of Leaders &
Groups of leaders are already fulfilling
Biblical Prophecy by relying on human wisdom in their own serious & subtle ways.

Please note; we have listed names (only) of the most prominent Leaders in this article, but have written longer profiles of some of the most influential Leaders and ‘One World Groups’ (which are significant organisations) in separate articles, in this section of ‘Dates & People.’ Please read them!

In this connection, we can think of:
A. Religious Leaders.

C. Non-Religious, Non-Governmental Leaders of (new) Cultural/ civilization-saving Groups, with the aim of improving & ‘saving’ this Planet Earth from disaster.

[It is worth noting that there are secular groups such as PGA, (Peoples’ Global Action) that do not agree with globalisation, & organisations such as the IMF, WTO, G8, etc.
These are the ones who organise large protests at various regional or Int’l meetings.]

MOST PROMINENT GROUPS of NATIONS.

‘G8’ Most Industrialised Nations, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United States & Russia.

Non-aligned Nations, a group of nations that feel they are left outside the influence of the above nations, & other groupings. Many are in Africa & South America.

African Union of the 53 greater & smaller nations of this war ravaged, but potentially wealthy continent. A part of the world not to be ignored!

Commonwealth of Nations, is a global grouping of 52 Nations with allegiance to the Queen of England. Most are democracies, previously part of the British ‘Empire’.

Organisation of American States. Mainly trading association of North & South Americas.

Shanghai Co-operation Organisation.  A relatively new (’96) emerging power bloc, led by China & Russia & some Central Asian States; with Iran & some others, being given only ‘Observer Status’ at present. Just by size & population very significant! Is anti-USA in theory.

Arab League, a grouping of 22 Arab nations, in the Middle East. (Part only of the OIC).

Organisation of Islamic Conferences is a voluntary coming together of 57 Islamic Nations. [For more detail on this powerful organisation, see www.oic.oci.org] They number 1.5 billion.

Association of South East Asian Nations, [ASEAN]
Significant leader is Lee Kuan Yew, ex-president of Singapore, a very capable politician. Ten Countries involved; Australia, N.Z., China, South Korea, Indonesia [World’s largest Muslim nation], Philippines, Japan, & other Island nations. Linked at present by Trade.
A powerful grouping as it includes China, with a population of over 1 Bln!

Europe Union. A gradual re-uniting of the many nations in this continent, which was once unified by religious affiliation to the Catholic Empire, then disintegrated into many separate nation states, before and after the Second World War. It is now emerging as a counter to the United States of America, with its own currency & partially accepted Constitution.

1. The General Secretary of the ‘Council of Europe’ (& main architect over many years.)
2. E.U’s 1st High Representative for Common Foreign Policy. This gives him the power to act on behalf of all the E.U. nations - & in an emergency - without consultation…
3. Secretary of the ‘Neighbourhood Partnership Policy’ whereby M.E. Nations are involved with the E.U. This includes 11 M.E. nations adjacent to Europe, including Israel for Trade.
E.U.Commissioner for External Relations, is (Ms) Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
Presidency of the E.U. is on a rotating basis of different nations out of the 27+.

POSSIBLE FUTURE GROUPINGS OF NATIONS, [‘POWER BLOCS’],
Who’s LEADERS maybe/could be - THE ‘TEN KINGS/ HORNS’
written about in REVELATION 17: 3,12,16, & chapter 18,
that will support A ONE WORLD SUPREME LEADER, ‘THE ANTI-CHRIST’,
who will be TOTALLY AGAINST THE ETERNAL GOD’S MESSIAH, JESUS CHRIST.
[These are only our suggestions based on the emerging groups of nations, even now.]

1. Africa, the continent of many different nations & ethnic groups.

2. ‘Arabia’, might include all ‘Arab’ nations, (plus other large ethnic groups), Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Gulf States, [Kuwait, U.A.E. Qatar, Bahrain,] and Yemen.

3. North America, [USA & Canada], & Mexico.

4.South America, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela.

5. Central Asia, Afghanistan, Burma, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal, Pakistan, & Vietnam. (Also well over 1.5 billion people).

6. China. [Has the largest population of any nation in the world, over 1 billion people.]

7. Southeast Asia, Indonesia/Borneo, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Philippines.

8. Europe, 27 nations.

9. Oceania, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Polynesia, Micronesia, & all Island states in Pacific.

10. Russian Federation (includes nearby States.)

From a Biblical, Christian perspective future ‘End time’ Leaders will be very significant!
We refer especially to ‘the False-messiah’ or ‘Antichrist’ & those who support him, especially a powerful ‘False Prophet’, as well as “10 kings” or powerful leaders.

Whichever groups the ‘kings’ or leaders will represent, it is clear that the entire world will one day, (through their Leaders), give their allegiance to the False-messiah/Antichrist, so enabling him to rule the world his evil way. [See Revelation 13 & 17.]

Some of these Leaders could be alive now, though we do not know who they are.

We do NOT believe ISRAEL will be represented by any of the above.

This is because we believe they will have recognised that ADONAI Yeshua is their only King, so they will have a separate treaty/covenant with the False Messiah.

This will be because - at a certain point of time - as a result of a seemingly final threat of annihilation from the huge Magog Army, (as described in Ezekiel 36 –39) Israel will become a HOLY NATION before the whole world, and then refuse to come under the control of the False-messiah, also called the Antichrist, claiming to be a great ‘saviour’!

(It is the world control of this man that is being prepared for by the joint efforts of ‘The Earth Council’ & The Association of Civilisations, & related Groups.)[See our next study on ‘One World Government Groups’.]
It is known that the False-messiah will make a separate treaty/agreement with the renewed nation of Israel;ordering every Jew to return to a greatly enlarged ‘Holy Land’, (as originally promised by the God of Israel), & will agree to them building the third Temple.[Please see our study on Israel’s Glorious Future.]

ISRAEL’ LEADERS during the 1st decade of the 21st Century.
Bible reading Believers have a special interest in Leaders in Israel,
such as the President of Israel, Shimon PERES
& P.M. Benjamin NETANYAHU, & Vice-P.M. Ehud BARAK,
because they are the God permitted Leaders at present, of His chosen nation of Israel.

It is even possible God will allow ‘weak’ leadership to emerge in the next few years of this 21st Century, in order to facilitate the false peace prior to the Ezekiel War later on where they will realise they desperately need ADONAI, alone!

Somehow as Scripture indicates, this tiny nation will continue to draw the focus of the rest of the world, because of the SPIRITUAL battle they represent, of who is really the Supreme God of this world. We can literally see fulfillment of the words of the Prophet Zechariah, (in chapter 12.)

“This is the Word of the LORD concerning Israel.
ADONAI, Who stretches out the Heavens, Who lays the foundation of the Earth,
& Who forms the spirit of man within him, declares:

I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling.”
God will work out His purposes of blessing for Israel, in
His way, and in His time, dealing with any enemies who come against her.
This will be for the fulfilments of His promises & for the Glory of His own great Name!

The ‘pieces’ of final foretold events, Jesus & the prophets warned us of, and faithfully recorded in the Holy Bible, are gradually becoming more evident every passing month.

May God give us wisdom, humility & grace to discern what we need to, as we turn our ‘watching’ into prayer & holy living for Jesus/Yeshua our Saviour & God.

One of our favourite sayings is, "no-one can be better than their source of information."

This is why we Evangelical Believers have a concern to understand the trends in our times, preparing ourselves to discover & live by God’s pure values even when they are different from the “unwisely tolerant”, yet often inconsistent ‘values’ of the Humanistic world view.
